Gymnastics strength is not the same as general fitness. A person who can run 10 kilometres or lift their bodyweight in a squat may still lack the scapular stability or midline tension needed to hold a basic L-sit for three seconds. This webinar is built around that distinction.
Instructor Callum Dreyer, who has coached recreational gymnastics for eleven years, walks through the six primary strength patterns used in floor gymnastics: push, pull, hinge, compression, tension, and rotation. Each pattern maps to specific skills, so you understand what you are training and why.
The session covers progressions for pike compression, shoulder pressing strength, and hollow body endurance - all without rings, bars, or any equipment beyond a mat. You will also learn how to structure a weekly home session that builds these qualities without overloading the wrists and elbows, which are the joints most commonly strained in unsupervised training.
A programming template is provided at the end of the webinar. It outlines a four-week block with clear load parameters and rest guidelines. The live format includes a 25-minute Q&A; where Callum reviews submitted videos from registered participants.
